Varicose Vein or Spider Vein?

Varicose veins are thick, large, swollen blood vessels that are often twisted and turned. They are most commonly seen in the legs, often in the calf area and are visible through the skin.

Spider veins are smaller veins that are often red, purple and/or blue. They are also twisted and turned. Similarly, they are seen through the skin and are most commonly seen on the face and legs.

Their causes are thought to be quite similar, some examples are:

Genetics – A predisposition to both is often passed on from generation to generation.

Excessive Standing – Standing for excessive periods puts more pressure on the veins and exacerbates a predisposition to swollen or spider veins.

Excessive body weight – This also adds more pressure on the legs and their veins, which can exacerbate the situation.

Symptoms of Varicose Veins and Spider Veins

This is where the two differ. In most cases, spider veins are not sore or swollen and do not exhibit the same problematic symptoms found with varicose veins. Varicose veins can be painful, sore and cause aching/ cramping. They can give a sensation that the legs are tired, restless, heavy and throbbing. Spider veins in most cases do not cause these symptoms.

Therefore, our Nature’s Miracle Soothing Leg and Varicose Vein Treatment are designed specifically for helping with the symptoms of Varicose Veins, and it cannot help with making superficial spider veins disappear.
