Avocado Extract

As food, Avocado’s are not only delicious, but they are extremely good for you. They provide the body with high amounts of Vitamin K, C, B5, B6 and E as well as potassium. They’re also loaded with ‘heart-healthy’ monounsaturated fatty acids (oleic acid).

But why do we put Avocado oil into our skincare products and how does it help with Dry Skin conditions such as Eczema & Psoriasis? Well, let’s take a look…

  • Moisturising qualities – Avocado’s uniquely rich texture has a number of benefits when it comes to dry and dull skin. Vitamins A and E are present in Avocado extracts and help enormously with adding moisture to the skin. Both vitamins are packed with anti-oxidants and help repair damaged skin.

  • Anti-Ageing qualities – As mentioned above, avocado extracts contain Vitamin A, which is a form of retinol. Retinol plays an important role in the appearance of our skin as it encourages new cell growth and collagen production. The more collagen produced, the less fine lines and wrinkles are visible.

In addition to this, the naturally occurring antioxidants offer protection against free radicals that can attack otherwise healthy skin cells leading to pigmentation of the skin. While it isn’t enough to use as a sunscreen on its own, it offers a boost of additional protection.

Here at Cloud 9 Skin Solutions, we currently include Avocado in our Tranquility Ultra Soothing Cream for Dry Damaged Skin and Good Night Deep Nourishing Sleep Mask to help battle dry and damaged skin symptoms such as those caused by conditions such as Psoriasis, Eczema and other forms of Dermatitis.
